God has prepared us for a time such as this:

• Our mission, values, and core beliefs are Biblical and well-established.
• Our leaders are well-trained and released to serve, using their gifts, talents, and abilities.
• Our church culture and atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming.
• We are not personality-centered. That is, our future growth and success is not dependant upon any one individual.

As we consider the opportunities in the days ahead, as we rely on God’s wisdom and guidance, and as we plan with our leaders, we are anticipating the next phase of our church’s life to be one where we see thousands of lives impacted by what we’re able to do in the greater Tallahassee area.

“Let me simply say that,” we sense God is going to do something very great among us. Pastor Eli Hendricks often quotes D.L. Moody who says it this way, “Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has entered into the heart of man, what God can do through a life that is totally committed to Him.”

If our local church is to really represent Jesus to the world there remains a great deal of work to do in Tallahassee. For instance:

We’ve been called to help people find God’s plan for their lives. There are ten’s of thousands of people in this area that don’t know Jesus. Consequently, we need to continue to reach out to share His love with others. We believe that true satisfaction in life is only found in a relationship with Him.

We’ve been called to train up people to follow after God through obedience to His word. It’s not enough to just turn your life over, we have to teach people how to live a life 100% willing to listen and do what God says.

We’ve been called to be worshippers. Worship is a response to the revelation that a person has about God, the deeper the revelation the greater the worship. We know that God longs to be present and be a part of our everyday lives. We also know that He wants us to pursue him and long for his presence. We know it’s God’s desire for more people to grow in their worship experience as they grow in the knowledge of Him.

We’ve been called to be a place for healing. We are called to train up leaders who can effectively minister to the emotional, spiritual, and physical healing needs of our community. We are called to help the needy, reach out to the poor, deliver the oppressed, and share God’s truth, love, and power.

We’ve been called to be a place of racial reconciliation. We feel that God intends to use LifeWay Community Church to help bring about racial unity here in the greater Tallahassee area. God has begun to give us a glimpse of what it means to be a multi-ethnic community of believers. Yet, there is so much more for us to do and experience.

We’ve been called to train up people to be released into service. We believe that everyone has been given gifts from God to be used to help strengthen the lives of others. We know that when this happens people are able to serve in a way that feels natural according to the way they’ve been designed.

We’ve been called to help the poor in our community. We long to have the ability to have a huge impact on the poor. It has been a privilege to help people with food, yet we believe God wants us to do so much more. Someday we envision LifeWay C.C. being used to better care for the widows, orphans, homeless and oppressed.

We’ve been called to be a family. This means that we need to continue to focus on individuals as the church grows larger. We firmly believe that ministry happens when friendships are built and relationships cultivated. As we continue to grow we will insure that this stays our focus so that personal ministry to people is our driving force.

Where we are going is exciting, yet daunting. With our hard work, sacrifice and God’s continued favor we’ll see this vision lived out. “God Builds Better Lives”

The Eternal Godhead
We believe God is Triune: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the three in one. (1 John 5:7)

The Fall of Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that by voluntary disobedience he fell from perfection. (Rom. 5:12)

Basis of Salvation
We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, signing the pardon of all who believe in Him and confess Jesus Christ as their Lord. (John 3:16; Rom. 5:8, Rom. 10:9-10)

Salvation through Grace
We believe that before salvation we have no righteousness of our own and must come to God through the righteousness of Christ. (Eph. 2:8)

Repentance and Acceptance
We believe that upon sincere repentance and a wholehearted acceptance of Christ as Lord, we are justified before God. (1 John 1:9)

The New Birth
We believe that the change which takes place in the heart and life at conversion is a literal one and is the result of being born of the Spirit of God. (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 2:20; John 3:5-7)

Daily Christian Life
We believe that it is the will of God that we live a sanctified and holy life, growing constantly in the Faith. (Heb. 6:1)

Water Baptism
We believe that baptism by immersion in water is an outward sign of the inward work of salvation.
(Matt. 28:19)

The Lord’s Supper
We believe in the commemoration of the Lord’s Supper by the symbolical use of the bread and the juice of the vine. (1 Cor. 11:28)

Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is to endue the believer with power, and that His empowering is after the same manner as in Bible days. (Acts 1:8; 2:4)

The Spirit-Filled Life
We believe that it is the will of God that we walk in the Spirit continually. (Rom. 8:1-2; 14-16)

The Gifts and the Fruit of the Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit has gifts to bestow upon the Christian and that we should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a Spirit-filled life. (1 Cor. 12:1-11; Gal. 5:22-23; Rom. 12:6-8; Eph. 4:11-13)

Moderation and Balance
We believe that all truth must be balanced with other scriptural truth in order to avoid any extreme or fanaticism and that moderation should show forth in our daily walk as a believer. (Phil. 4:5)

Divine Healing
We believe that divine healing is the provision of Christ to heal the sick in response to the exercise of faith, the prayer of faith, the prayer of agreement, anointing with oil, the gifts of healing or the laying on of hands. We believe that this provision of Christ is for everyone today. (1 Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17; 18:18-19; James 5:14-16; 1 Cor. 2:9; Mark 16:15-18; Matt. 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33)

The Second Coming
We believe that the Second Coming of Christ is literal and inevitable.
(1 Thes. 4:16-17)

Church Membership
We believe it is our sacred duty to identify and actively participate with the local and visible church of Christ. (Acts 16:5; Heb. 10:25)

Civil Government
We believe that the laws of the land should be upheld at all times except in matters opposed to the Word of God. (Rom. 13:1-5)

The Final Judgment
We believe that all shall stand one day before God in final judgment, and there receive eternal reward or eternal judgment. (2 Cor. 5:10; Rev. 20:11-13)

Heaven
We believe that heaven is a literal place, eternally existent. (John 14:2; Rev. 7:15-17)

Hell
We believe that hell is a literal place of eternal torment for all who reject the Lord Jesus Christ. (Rev. 20:10, 15)

Connecting With Each Other – The best way to connect with each other at LifeWay is through Life Groups. In a Life group, people study God’s Word together and are in a safe environment to discuss the issues and challenges of life. A. – Absolutely!!!

Life Groups are the best way for people to get connected at LIFEWAY. We are more than a church that meets on weekends. We also are a network of small groups that meet throughout the city at different times and locations through the week. Life Groups are one way that we provide opportunities to build meaningful and lasting relationships with one another. Our Life Groups run in three terms -spring, summer, and fall. They meet at different times and locations around the city. You can explore Life Groups by picking up the current Life Group Directory at the Welcome Center.

Q. – Do you offer a nursery during service times for our babies?
A. – Yes, we offer a nursery & preschool Ministry (Birth to 2 yrs)

We provide an environment dedicated to your little ones. LifeWay provides a safe, nurturing climate for your child. We use a state-of-the-art registration system that gives parents a worry-free experience. All classes are monitored and adequately staffed with the proper teacher/child ratio. Your child will be delighted with age appropriate activities and lessons where they’ll learn about God from gifted teachers that can articulate the gospel at their level.

At L.W.C.C., your child will learn about God’s love through worship and creative activities, learning these three truths: (1) God made me; (2) God loves me; and (3) Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Q. – Do you offer a teaching environment for our pre-school children?
A. – Yes, it is called LifeWay Chapel (3 – 4 year olds)

We believe in introducing praise and worship to our little ones. This time is filled with music, puppets, games and activities that your three, four, and five year olds will enjoy while teaching them what it means to worship the Lord. This is a fun and meaningful time for the children, one they will come home talking about. We want to help your child discover that Jesus is a friend forever.

Q. – Do you offer children’s services during Sunday morning worship?
A. – Yes, LifeWay Children’s Ministry is K – 5th grades

Services start at 10:30 am.We are partnering with parents to lead children into a growing relationship with God. We welcome your kids to an exciting time filled with incredible praise and worship, amazing character performances, and an exciting journey through the Good Book as we bring the Bible to life before their very eyes! Our talented staff and volunteers use an endless number of creative and innovative teaching methods that are relevant to the ever-changing culture of a child. Your child has their own seat in each service, but we guarantee they’ll only need the edge!

Q. – Are there opportunities to volunteer at LifeWay C.C.?
A. – Yes there are.

Serving at one of our services is an expression of Worship. We have outlined some immediate needs below. To volunteer, you may either fill out a LifeWay Connection Card during a Sunday morning service or just call the office.

Q. – Does LifeWay offer services for our Middle & High School Children?
A. – Yes, LifeWay Youth Ministries meets on Sunday Evenings at 6 PM

LifeWay Youth helps bridge the gap between not understanding God and having a relationship with Him. It’s kind of like eating Pringles Potato Chips, once you pop, you can’t stop. Starting to attend church regularly creates an unquenchable hunger to discover more about this Creator of the Universe and the personal plan He has for our lives. Getting involved with other great youth in dynamic services, inviting others to join in the experience, going to youth camps and youth conferences and living the life is just the start of why we exist.

L.W.Y.M. exposes God for what He is, an everlasting and ever-increasing faithful God in our lives who desires personal relationships. But it is up us to respond to this great relationship, and as we reach out to Him, He embraces us, for the journey of a lifetime!
