THE DANGER OF UNPREPARED FEET

“You Miss Peace When You’re Not Ready for It”

Scripture Focus

Ephesians 6:15 (NKJV)

“and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”

Luke 19:42 – “…the things that make for your peace…”

Today’s Devotional Thought: Jerusalem didn’t miss peace because it wasn’t available… They missed it because they were not prepared for it

Understanding “Feet Shod”

Paul uses a Roman soldier image:

  • Shod (hypodeō) → tightly bound footwear
  • Preparation (hetoimasia) → readiness, foundation

Roman soldiers wore:

  • Studded sandals
  • Designed for traction
  • Built for battle

Without them, a soldier would:

  • Slip under pressure
  • Lose ground
  • Fall during the battle

Spiritual Reality… Your feet represent your walk, your lifestyle, your direction.

Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

If your feet are not prepared:

  • You slip under pressure
  • You miss divine moments
  • You cannot move when God says “GO”

The Core Problem in Jerusalem

They had:

  • Information but no application
  • Religion but little relationship
  • Expectation but no flexibility

But lacked:

  • Readiness
  • Alignment
  • Sensitivity

Prophetic Insight

Isaiah 52:7 – “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace…”

  • The feet carry peace
  • The feet position you for purpose

But if your feet are not aligned with heaven…You can be in the right place, and still miss God.

Modern Application

Today, many believers:

  • Want peace… but avoid preparation
  • Want blessing… but resist alignment
  • Want visitation… but control the schedule

But hear this clearly:

  • God does not bless schedules, He blesses surrender.
  • Peace comes to the prepared, not the pressured.

Key Passion Week Revelation… Unprepared feet lead to missed moments.

Reflection Questions

  • Am I spiritually ready… or just spiritually active?
  • Is my life aligned with the Holy Spirit… or my own agenda?
  • Am I stable enough to stand when God says move?

Today’s Prayer: Father, today I’m asking you to prepare my walk. Align my steps with Your Holy Spirit. Remove all distraction, instability, and spiritual laziness. Make me ready for what You are about to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
