Today’s Focus
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Prayer is not merely a religious exercise; it is spiritual warfare. Jesus declared:
“My house shall be called a house of prayer.” (Matthew 21:13)
The disciples NEVER asked Jesus to teach them to PREACH, or to teach them to do MIRACLES, or to RAISE the DEAD. The one thing they did ask him is will you TEACH US TO PRAY?
The Early Church changed cities because they prayed until the atmosphere shifted. Acts 4:31 says:
“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken…”
True Intimacy in Prayer is birthed through KNOWING God’s WAYS.
“He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel.” (Psalms 103:7)
The sons of Israel SAW God’s acts, His deeds, and miracles. Moses, however, KNEW God’s ways, His character, and nature. The people knew what God did, but Moses KNEW God.
God is saying that the Church must be a praying Church. A church where the altars are filled with tears, conviction, worship, repentance, and His manifest presence. America’s greatest need is not louder opinions; it is deeper intercession.
There are many people today who are seeking for an EXPERIENCE, a DREAM, a VISION, or a MANIFESTATION, yet, as important as those may be, they can never compare to a “FACE to FACE” relationship with God.
But God doesn’t just call us to seek His hand, He calls us to seek His face. Many people seek blessings, favor, protection, or breakthrough, but God desires relationship. Moses understood this when he prayed:
“If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Exodus 33:15)
King David provides one of the best examples of INTIMACY with God in PRAYER. Despite his sins and problems, David longed for intimacy with the Lord.
Feel David’s passion in this Psalm 63:
“O God, my God! How I search for you! How I thirst for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. How I long to find you! How I wish I could go into your sanctuary to see your strength and glory, for your love and kindness are better to me than life itself. How I praise you! I will bless you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. At last I shall be fully satisfied; I will praise you with great joy. I lie awake at night thinking of you— of how much you have helped me—and how I rejoice through the night beneath the protecting shadow of your wings. I follow close behind you, protected by your strong right arm” (Psalm 63:1-8).
David cries out for God, expressing his desire for INTIMACY with Him. He is known as the GREATEST King in Israel’s History… WHY???
- His Intimate Relationship with GOD is what made him GREAT!!!
David understood that true revival also requires repentance. Repentance is not condemnation; it is returning home to the Father. Acts 3:19 says:
“Repent therefore and be converted… so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”
Refreshing always follows Repentance.
Today’s Challenge:
Today, intentionally seek God’s face, not just His blessings.
- Spend time in worship
- Pray for your family and nation
- Repent of anything the Holy Spirit reveals
- Turn off distractions and pursue His presence
Ask yourself: “Do I want God’s hand… or do I truly desire His presence?”
Today’s Prayer:
Father, draw me deeper into Your presence. Teach me to become a person of prayer and repentance. Forgive me for seeking blessings more than seeking You. Awaken a fresh passion for worship, holiness, and intercession in my life. Let Your presence invade my home, my church, and this nation. Heal what sin has broken and pour out Your Spirit once again. Let revival begin in us. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
