A God-kind of love

A God-kind of love

At the center of every healthy relationship must be a God-kind of love.

God’s Love Poured Out

This divine love is transformative:

The phrase “poured out” in Greek means to gush forth, to flood, to overflow without measure. Paul is not saying we are commanded to create love; he is saying the Holy Spirit has already poured it into us.

Therefore, our role is not to strive, but to surrender:

The Holy Spirit is not just a giver of gifts. He is a distributor of divine love. And where the Spirit is allowed to flow, relationships flourish.

Why Relationships Struggle

Most relationships fail because human nature often replaces God’s design:

Human love often operates on conditions, saying, “I’ll love you if…” but God-kind love says, “I choose to love.” This is the profound truth we find in 1 Corinthians 13, which describes this love as patient, kind, enduring, and unfailing. This is agape, God’s covenant love.

The Holy Spirit Makes Love Possible

This is where so many believers miss it. They try to fix relationships externally without allowing the Holy Spirit to work internally. But Romans 5:5 clearly states that the love of God is poured into our hearts.

When the heart is healed, everything changes:

When the Spirit fills the center, love becomes the center.

At Lifeway Christian Church, the strength of the body will never be our programs. It will be the love we carry. Jesus affirmed this in John 13:35:

Our identity as disciples is known:

Cultivating Healthier Relationships

If you desire healthier relationships, the key is not to try harder, but to yield deeper. Let the Holy Spirit flood your heart again. Ask Him to work within you:

Because when God’s love is at the center of your life, relationships don’t just survive… they thrive.

Today’s Prayer

Father, Thank You that Your love has already been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Teach me to walk in that love.

Heal what has been strained. Restore what has been broken.

Strengthen what You have joined together. Let our homes, our friendships, and our church reflect Your agape love.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
