Day 9 – God Is Our Provider
(Matthew 6:33) “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Fasting brings us face to face with a foundational truth of the Kingdom: God is our source, not our circumstances. When Jesus speaks these words in Matthew 6, He is addressing hearts weighed down by worry with concerns about food, clothing, and tomorrow. His invitation is not to deny those needs, but to reorder our priorities.
To seek God first is to place Him at the center of our trust. Fasting retrains the soul to look upward before looking outward. As natural provision is temporarily set aside, we are reminded that our lives are sustained by God’s faithfulness, not by our own effort. What we release in fasting, God replaces with deeper dependence and greater confidence in Him.
Jesus promises that when the Kingdom is our priority, provision becomes God’s responsibility. “All these things” are not chased, they are added. Provision flows not from striving, but from alignment. When righteousness governs our desires, God ensures that nothing we truly need is lacking.
Jehovah Jireh is not merely the God who has provision, He is our provision. He sees the need before it arises, prepares the supply before the request is made, and meets us with perfect timing. The Spirit reassures us that God’s economy is not limited by human scarcity. What seems impossible in the natural is abundant in His hands.
As you fast, let worry give way to worship. Let anxiety be replaced with assurance. Trust that God knows what you need, when you need it, and how to deliver it. He has never failed, and He will not start now. Seeking Him first positions your life under the open flow of heaven’s provision.
Today’s Prayer: Jehovah Jireh, You are my provider. I choose to seek Your Kingdom and Your righteousness above all else. I release every worry and every fear concerning my needs. I trust You to add what is necessary according to Your perfect will and timing. Thank You for Your faithfulness and abundant care over my life. Amen.
Today’s Focus: Provision is trusting God as your source and resting in His faithful supply.
