Daniel Fast Devotional: Day 15 – God’s Timing Is Perfect
Scripture: “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Waiting is one of God’s greatest tools for formation. We often view waiting as a delay, but in God’s kingdom, waiting is preparation. Ecclesiastes reminds us that God governs not only what happens, but when it happens. Every promise, every breakthrough, every transition unfolds in its appointed season.
Fasting teaches us patience by slowing us down and reordering our desires. It exposes our tendency to rush ahead of God and reminds us that His timing is rooted in wisdom, not haste. What feels late to us is often God working deeply beneath the surface, aligning hearts, preparing circumstances, and shaping our character for what is to come.
God is never early, because He is not anxious. He is never late, because He is sovereign. He arrives precisely on time, with everything perfectly aligned for His glory and our good. When we try to force a season, we may obtain something prematurely and miss the fullness God intended. But when we wait on the Lord, strength is renewed and faith is refined.
Patience is not passive; it is active trust. It is choosing to remain faithful, prayerful, and obedient while time unfolds. During this fast, the Holy Spirit may be teaching you to release control and rest in God’s schedule. Trust that the same God who gave the promise is also overseeing the process.
Today, surrender your timeline to the Lord. Let patience have its perfect work. What God is preparing will be worth the wait.
Today’s Prayer: Father, I confess that waiting can be difficult, but I choose to trust You. As I fast, teach me patience and help me rest in Your perfect timing. Align my heart with Your will and my steps with Your season. I trust that You are working all things together for good. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Today’s Focus: Trusting God’s timing while remaining faithful in every season.
