“Your Mistakes Are Not Greater Than God’s Grace”
Today’s Scripture Focus
2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you…”
Hebrews 4:16 “…come boldly to the throne of grace…”
Devotional Thought:
There are different dimensions of grace:
- Saving Grace
- Justifying Grace
- Teaching Grace
- Enabling Grace
The Power of Enabling Grace
Paul prayed for God to remove his struggle…but God responded, “My grace is sufficient”
Today’s Revelation… God didn’t remove the issue…He gave grace to overcome it.
Zerubbabel’s Struggle
- Foundation laid
- Work stopped
- Opposition increased
- 16 years of delay
External Pressure
- Legal battles
- Enemies resisting
Internal Pressure
- Half-hearted people
- Negative voices
- “It won’t be like the glory days”
The Real Battle…. The greatest threat is not outside opposition, but internal voices.
Today’s Warning:
Those “little voices” say:
- “Give up”
- “God’s not with you”
- “It’s over”
But God Says… BEGIN AGAIN.
- Try again
- Pray again
- Believe again
- Praise again
Powerful Truth
Psalm 145:8 “The Lord is gracious and full of compassion…”
“His Heart Toward You Has Never Changed”
Today’s Focus:
Psalm 145:8 “The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy.”
Devotional Thought
There are many voices in life that try to define who God is…but Scripture gives us the clearest picture:
- God is gracious
- God is full of compassion
Not sometimes… Not when you earn it… This is His nature GOD IS GRACIOUS
Grace means: God gives what you do NOT deserve
Think about that
- You didn’t earn His love
- You didn’t deserve His forgiveness
- You didn’t qualify for His goodness
Yet… He gives it freely
Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith… it is the gift of God.”
GOD IS FULL OF COMPASSION
Compassion means: God feels deeply for you
He is not distant… He is not cold… He is moved by what you’re going through.
Lamentations 3:22–23 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed… They are new every morning…”
Revelation: Every single day: You wake up to fresh mercy.
The Truth;
- God is patient with you.
- He doesn’t give up quickly.
- He doesn’t walk away easily.
2 Peter 3:9 “…not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
GREAT IN MERCY
Mercy means: God withholds what you DO deserve
Grace + Mercy Together
- Grace gives you what you don’t deserve
- Mercy keeps you from what you do deserve
That means: You are:
- forgiven
- covered
- loved
WHEN YOU FEEL UNWORTHY
There are moments when you may feel:
- ashamed
- distant from God
- like you’ve messed up too much
But God says:
- “I am still gracious”
- “I am still compassionate”
Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus…”
THE ENEMY’S LIE
The enemy wants you to believe:
- God is disappointed in you
- God is distant from you
- God is done with you
GOD’S TRUTH
God is saying:
- “Come closer”
- “I’m not finished with you”
- “My mercy is still working in your life”
GOD’S HEART TOWARD YOU:
- He is not waiting to reject you; He is ready to restore you.
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace…”
The Challenge: Today, stop running from God… and run TO Him.
KEY TRUTH: God’s love is not based on your performance… It is rooted in His nature.
Today’s DECLARATIONS:
- The Lord is gracious to me.
- The Lord is full of compassion toward me.
- His mercy is new every morning.
- I am loved.
- I am forgiven.
- I am not condemned.
Today’s PRAYER: Father, thank You that You are gracious and full of compassion. Help me receive Your love without striving. Heal every place where I’ve believed lies about who You are. Draw me closer to You today. Let me rest in Your mercy and walk in Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
