Revival Begins with Us

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves…” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

One of the most powerful truths in this passage is that God did not say, “If the world humbles itself.” He said, “If MY people…” Revival begins in the house of God. Before God transforms a nation, He first transforms His people. Throughout Scripture, judgment and awakening always began with those who already knew Him.

America does not merely need political reform or cultural adjustment; it needs spiritual awakening. We have churches on nearly every corner, endless access to Scripture, worship music, conferences, and Christian content. Yet the question remains: Have we lost our hunger for God? Have we become comfortable with church services while lacking true encounters with His presence?

Revival is not emotional hype, it is returning to holiness, prayer, surrender, and the power of the Holy Spirit. The altar is not a place of condemnation; it is a place to be altered by God’s presence.

Before Elijah prays on Mount Carmel for the fire of God to fall, he does something powerful, he rebuilds the altar of the LORD: “And Elijah took twelve stones… and built an altar in the name of the LORD.” 1 Kings 18:31-32

This is POWERFUL because before the fire can fall again, the broken altars in our hearts must be rebuilt.

The Church cannot transform culture while looking exactly like it. God is calling believers back to consecration, purity, and spiritual hunger. 1 Peter 4:17 says:

“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God.”

Revival doesn’t begin in Washington… it begins in SURRENDERED Hearts.

Today’s Challenge:

Today, ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart.

  • What has distracted you spiritually?
  • Where have you grown complacent?
  • Have you replaced encounter with routine?

Spend intentional time building your personal altar today:

  • Worship without distraction
  • Pray honestly
  • Repent quickly
  • Invite the Holy Spirit to awaken your hunger again

Today’s Prayer:

Father, in the name of Jesus, awaken my heart again. Forgive me for every area of complacency, compromise, or spiritual dryness. Restore my hunger for Your presence. Teach me to value holiness more than comfort and surrender more than success. Let revival begin in me. Rebuild the broken altars in my life and let the fire of the Holy Spirit burn brightly again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
