The Source of Supernatural Strength

THE SOURCE OF SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH

Ephesians 6:10–12 (NKJV)

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Paul Ends with a Command… Not words of Comfort

The book of Ephesians begins with our identity in Christ… “blessed with every spiritual blessing” (Ephesians 1:3) and ends with spiritual warfare.

Paul does not say, “Relax” … He says, “Be strong.”

Why?

Because revelation without resistance is incomplete. Whenever God reveals purpose, the enemy attempts to bring pressure. But heaven’s answer to pressure is not panic but it’s power.

BE STRONG — BUT IN THE RIGHT SOURCE

The phrase “be strong” (endunamoo) literally means: To be empowered inwardly. To be infused with strength.

It is the same root word used in Acts 9:22:

“But Saul increased all the more in strength…”

  • This is not personality strength.
  • This is not emotional resilience.
  • This is not leadership charisma.
  • This is divine infusion.

Paul makes it clear:

“Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Three dimensions of divine strength are mentioned:

  • Strength (capacity)
  • Power (ability)
  • Might (force)

All of it belongs to Him.

Strength Is Renewed in Waiting

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV):

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles…”

The word “renew” literally means to exchange. When you wait on Him, you exchange your weakness for His strength.

  • Waiting is not passive.
  • Waiting is positioning.

Prophetically, I sense many believers have mistaken waiting for stagnation.

But the Lord says:

“You are not stalled; you are being Strengthened.” In the hidden place, muscle is forming. In the quiet place, oil is flowing. In the waiting place, strength is multiplying.

Power Is Perfected in Weakness

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV):

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Paul prayed for the thorn to leave, but God answered with grace.

Why?

Because weakness creates dependency and dependency releases power. Your weakness is not a disqualification; it is a positioning. Some of the pressure you have felt was not to crush you. It was to hollow you out so heaven could fill you.

THE REAL WAR

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood…”

The word “wrestle” implies close, intense struggle.

  • This is not casual opposition.
  • This is strategic resistance.

The enemy works through:

  • Deception (lies)
  • Division (offense)
  • Discouragement (fatigue)
  • Distraction (misdirection)

But the battle is spiritual.

2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (NKJV):

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God…”

Strongholds begin as thoughts. Thoughts become beliefs. Beliefs shape behavior. If the enemy can shape your thoughts, he can shape your direction. But if the Spirit governs your thoughts, you govern your atmosphere.

PROPHETIC INSIGHT

I sense strongly that many are in a season where the battle feels unusually intense.

There has been:

  • Heightened pressure
  • Unusual fatigue
  • Subtle discouragement
  • Irrational fear

But this is not random. The Lord is strengthening minds for the next assignment.

Ephesians 3:16 (NKJV):

“That He would grant you… to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.”

The strengthening is internal before it is external. You have been interpreting resistance as attack, but heaven calls it training.

  • You are not being weakened from self-reliance.
  • You are being conditioned to pull your strength from God.

The Spirit says: “I am raising believers who cannot be easily shaken. I am producing stability in unstable times. I am building warriors who know how to stand.”

Some battles are not meant to be confronted in conversation; they are meant to be confronted through intercession.

The Lord is calling many from reaction to revelation. From argument to authority. From frustration to fortified faith. This is a strengthening season. And what feels heavy now will soon feel empowering.

If we don’t identify the enemy, we fight the wrong battle. When we fight people, we lose peace. When we fight spiritually, we gain authority. Your spouse is not the enemy. Your coworker is not the enemy. The culture is not the ultimate enemy. There are spiritual forces that are influencing environments.

But the believer who is strong in the Lord does not panic, he stands… and standing is VICTORY!

Today’s PRAYER:

Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You that our strength does not come from our personality, our gifting, or our experience but it comes from You. Lord, today we choose to be strong in the Lord and in the power of Your might. Strengthen us in the inner man. Fortify our minds. Stabilize our emotions. Anchor our hearts. Where there has been fatigue, release refreshing. Where there has been pressure, release power. Where there has been confusion, release clarity. Teach us to discern what is the real battle. Help us to wrestle in the Spirit and not react in the flesh. We take authority over deception, division, discouragement, and distraction. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Today, Strengthen every leader. Strengthen every family. Strengthen every weary heart. Holy Spirit, empower us from within. We will not collapse under pressure. We will not retreat in fear. We will stand strong in the Lord. And having done all to stand… we will stand.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
