Here is the truth most people don’t talk about:
Love is not just something you feel; it is something you choose.
“Love suffers long and is kind… does not seek its own… bears all things…” (1 Corinthians 13:4–7)
Love is:
- choosing patience when you’re frustrated
- choosing kindness when someone is harsh
- choosing forgiveness when you’ve been hurt
Love is not emotional; it is intentional.
Real-Life Love Looks Like This:
- Getting up in the middle of the night for your child
- Being patient with a struggling spouse
- Showing kindness to someone difficult
Because love gives people what they need, NOT what they deserve.
But here’s the reality: You can’t do this on your own.
“Come to Me… and I will give you rest…” (Matthew 11:28)
The Holy Spirit helps you rest from:
- condemnation
- striving
- trying to earn God’s approval
“There is therefore now no condemnation…” (Romans 8:1)
The Enemy’s Strategy:
The enemy knows your potential.
He knows:
- you are forgiven
- you are powerful in Christ
- you are more than a conqueror
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors…” (Romans 8:37)
So what does he try to do?
Keep you out of the Word.
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)
If he can keep you distracted, he can keep you from becoming who God called you to be.
Tough Love Is Still Love:
Jesus didn’t just comfort; He confronted.
Love:
- speaks truth
- corrects
- restores
Because real love never leaves people in bondage.
Final Truth:
You cannot love like Jesus without the Holy Spirit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love…” (Galatians 5:22)
Today’s Declaration:
I choose to love.
I depend on the Holy Spirit.
I will walk in love daily.
Today’s Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I cannot do this without You. Fill me, Strengthen me, Love through me. Help me walk in patience, kindness, and truth— just like Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
