Your TRUE Identity

One of the greatest battles a believer will ever face is not the battle of behavior; it’s the battle of identity.

Behavior modification without true identity revelation produces frustration. But when the issue of identity is settled, transformation flows naturally.

From the beginning, the enemy has attacked identity. In Genesis 3, the serpent tempted Eve by questioning what God had said. In the wilderness, Satan tempted Jesus by saying, “If You are the Son of God…” (Matthew 4:3). Notice, he attacked identity before he attacked assignment.

Be READY…

  • Culture will try to label you.
  • Your past will try to define you.
  • Your Failures will try to name you.

But Heaven has already spoken over you.

  • Your identity is NOT in what you’ve done.
  • Your identity is NOT in what others have said.
  • Your identity is NOT in your current struggles.
  • Your identity is in Christ ALONE.

1. “In Christ” — Is Your New Position

The Apostle Paul declares in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

The phrase “in Christ” appears over 100 times in the New Testament. It speaks of position, union, and covenant identity.

You are not just forgiven; you are transformed spiritually.

Colossians 1:13 says: “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”

You’ve been transferred. Your spiritual address changed.

Ephesians 2:4–6 declares: “But God, who is rich in mercy… made us alive together with Christ… and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

  • You are not fighting for victory.
  • You are fighting from victory.

2. You Are the Righteousness of God… You are not a sinner trying to become righteous.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says: “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Notice, it doesn’t say you are trying to become righteous. It says you have become the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 5:1: “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Justified means “declared righteous.” Heaven’s courtroom has already ruled in your favor.

Romans 8:1: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Condemnation may shout, but it has no legal standing.

3. You Are Adopted, Not Abandoned

Romans 8:15: “You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’”

Adoption in Roman culture meant full legal rights, with no second-class status.

Galatians 4:6–7 says: “Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, ‘Abba, Father!’ Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

You are not tolerated in God’s family…. You are TREASURED.

Psalm 27:10 says: “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me.”

4. You Are More Than a Conqueror Through Christ.

Romans 8:37: “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

More than conqueror means victory before the battle even begins.

2 Corinthians 2:14: “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ.

ALWAYS… Not sometimes, Not occasionally, but Always!!!

1 John 4:4 declares: “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

Always Remember… Your identity is greater than your opposition.

5. You Are Accepted in the Beloved… You are not striving for approval. You are already FULLY accepted.

Ephesians 1:6: “To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”

Accepted means FULLY Favored.

Ephesians 1:4–5 says: “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world… having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself.”

Before you were born…. Before you performed…. Before you failed.

You were CHOSEN.

John 15:16: “You did not choose Me, but I chose you.”

Identity begins with being chosen.

6. Your Identity Produces Confidence

Hebrews 4:16: “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace…”

Boldness flows from belonging.

Philippians 1:6: “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.”

You are not a project half-finished. You are a masterpiece in progress (Ephesians 2:10).

Today’s Declaration: You are a new creation. You are justified. You are adopted. You are accepted. You are victorious. You are seated with Christ. You are chosen. You are called. You are loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).

Walk in it. Pray from it. Lead from it. And LIVE from it.

Because when identity is settled, your future becomes UNSTOPPABLE.
